Privacy Policy
Fairhurst Press. Last updated 12 August 2026.
This privacy policy explains how Fairhurst Press ("we", "us") handles data in connection with this website and our use of the Jolt marketing platform to publish promotional content — including video — for The Divergence Engine to our own social media accounts, such as TikTok.
Who we are
Data controller: Dean Fairhurst, trading as Fairhurst Press. Contact: deanfairhurst@gmail.com.
What this website collects
This website (fairhurstpress.co.uk) is a static promotional page for the book. It does not use cookies, does not run analytics or tracking scripts, and does not collect any personal data from visitors.
What our publishing tool processes
Separately from this website, Fairhurst Press uses the Jolt platform to create and publish promotional posts to our own connected social media accounts (including TikTok). In doing so, Jolt processes:
- Connected account tokens: OAuth access tokens for Fairhurst Press's own TikTok (and other platform) accounts, stored encrypted and used only to publish our content and read our own accounts' engagement metrics.
- Marketing content: video, images, captions and hashtags created for posting about the book.
- Operational logs: a record of publishing actions, for security and accountability.
We do not collect or process personal data belonging to readers, viewers, or anyone who interacts with our TikTok content — engagement (likes, comments, follows) is handled entirely within TikTok's own platform and privacy terms, not by us.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — website hosting and the Jolt platform's database/authentication (UK/EU region).
- TikTok — publishing to our own TikTok account via TikTok's official Content Posting API.
- Groq — AI-assisted drafting of post captions and hashtags.
We do not sell data, and we do not use any data for advertising to third parties.
Retention & your rights
Connected-account tokens are kept only as long as the account remains connected, and can be disconnected at any time by Fairhurst Press, which removes the stored tokens. Under UK GDPR you may request details of any data we hold about you by emailing deanfairhurst@gmail.com.
